The Power of Giving. In 1994 The Transverse Myelitis Association was founded. Our membership has grown... 187 members in 1997, more than 10,700 members in 2014. In 2013: 1874 members participated in surveys; 2358 members joined our clinical registry; 10,333 members received newsletters; 36 families attended TMA family camp; 4458 viewed 2013 symposium videos; 525 people attended podcasts. You might wonder... of our active members Who gives back? Only 4.5% of TMA members donated in 2003. This year is TMA's 20 year anniversary. What if this year... each of us gives $20 and asks 20 friends & family to give $20 then... 1 member can raise $420 and 100 members $42,000; 1000 members $420,000; 5000 members $2,100,000; 10,700 members $4,494,000.
