The problem:
The Probable Solution
Switch Switcher uses 2 AA batteries so it's completely
portable. Batteries should last about a month.

- The user uses 1-2 switches to control things
- He/she wants to control 2 different things with
the same switch(es) - Presently, a facilitator must unplug his/her
switch(es) from one device and plug into another - It would be much better if the user could do it by
him/herself
The Probable Solution
- The user presses/holds his/her #1 switch for a
set-able number of seconds to switch between devices - The 'outputs' of his/her switch clicks now go to the
second device - Alternatively, if pressing/holding is difficult,
Switch Switcher can be put into Double-Tap Mode by a
facilitator, so that double-tapping switch #1 within a
set-able number of seconds switches between devices.
Switch Switcher uses 2 AA batteries so it's completely
portable. Batteries should last about a month.

Portable generators rated best by Consumer Reports | KOMO News
Consumer Reports tests portable generators and says you want one with
about 5,000 to 7,000 watts of power. That will give you enough power for
your essentials, such as a refrigerator, a well or sump pump, and a
furnace, as well as a computer, a microwave, and some lights.
Consumer Reports tested 31 portable generators, checking to see how much
power is actually delivered and the quality of that power. You want a
generator that can deliver the power it claims, maintain voltage, and
handle power surges from appliances that cycle on and off, including a
refrigerator or an air conditioner. It's also better for a computer and
other electronic devices.
For $4,000, the top-rated Honda EU7000is delivers the smoothest and the
quietest power. But Consumer Reports found plenty of less expensive
generators that-though not as quiet-handled surges in power even better.
Among them: the $900 Troy-Bilt XP 7000 30477 and, also for $900, the
Generac RS7000E, which testers say is very easy to start.
And remember, whichever generator you choose, you'll need about 8 to 20
gallons of gasoline to keep it running 24 hours a day. And because
gasoline can go bad, be sure to add fuel stabilizer to it.

Here was the big message everyone in
attendance walked away with: neural restoration is possible. This is
actually a mantra we all should learn and repeat daily. To quote Dr.
Cristina Sadowsky of Johns Hopkins and the Kennedy Krieger Institute, we
are capable of “achieving significant, incremental improvement at any
time following injury.” I repeat: at any time. Whether you were injured
yesterday or like me, seventeen years ago, you can improve.How many of you long ago gave up on the
idea your condition would ever change? That’s what the doctor no doubt
told you soon after your injury. “I’m sorry, son, there is no recovery
from this.” Before this conference, I believed that almost as a matter
of doctrine. This paralysis is it, I figured. It could only get worse,
not better. My sole focus, outside of exercise, has been trying to avoid
nasty falls, skin breakdown, and infection. Every time I read in the
newspaper about a “breakthrough in paralysis” or some such miracle on
the horizon, I turn the page. Years away and too late for an old-timer
like me, I’d tell myself. I don’t tell myself that anymore.

Regulation is increasingly limiting the design perimeters for new
cars, too. Testing has revealed that serious injury can result when a
pedestrian's head strikes the hood. The hood itself acts as a cushion as
it crumples, but that cushion effect ends as the hood impacts the
engine block.
The new regulations require most new cars have a three-inch space between the hood and the engine block.
But designers can't just raise the hood line three inches without
throwing the entire design out of whack. The windshield and windows must
be smaller. The lip, where the sheet metal rises to the base of the
windows, must be higher. The seats, too, must be higher so the driver
can see over the higher hood, andthe wheels have to be bigger, lest they
appear out of scale with the new proportions.
It's all money well spent, said safety expert Clarence Ditlow of the Center for Auto Safety.
"The cost of regulation saves lives, prevents injuries, prevents
paralysis and overall the government takes into consideration and cost
benefit already and if anything, there's too little auto regulation and
not enough," he said.

With Microsoft's recent release of Windows 8.1, the cloud-storage
service formerly known as SkyDrive officially became OneDrive. And it
remains tightly integrated with the OS.
So integrated, in fact,
that it syncs your cloud files to your hard drive, and vice-versa.
That's a handy feature, to be sure, but what happens if you're running
out of space on that local drive?
This can definitely be a problem for anyone with, say, a Surface or similar tablet,
or a laptop with a small solid-state drive. Fortunately, it's a simple
matter to relocate OneDrive's local storage to another storage device,
thereby freeing up critical space.
What kind of device? Because it's something you'll want to keep plugged in full-time, I recommend a tiny flash drive like the PKparis K'1 or much more affordable Team C12G (currently $15.99 at Newegg for the 32GB version).
Once you've added your drive, here's how to strongarm Windows 8.1 into moving your local OneDrive folders to it:

iPad Resources
Hello AT/AAC people!
I've only been emailing you about 2-3 times per month so I don't think I've been taking advantage of your good nature in allowing me 'in' to your lives ;-)
My RoadTrip requests this year have been significantly less than previous years. I have to face it; I'm older (61) and I strive to stay relevant and current. I still get comments like "I wish you moved in with us!" and "We [the support team] didn't even think of that!" when I do visit with 'you, so I hope you ask me to visit *your* facility soon! It's (almost) free and I LOVE doing it! Any ages, any disabilities. And with my new knowledge about ASD, from my current efforts towards a Masters in Autism Instruction, I *do * consider myself an "expert" in ASD technology.
Back to business, though. There *are* newer companies with 'newer' people now. I don't think they do a better job than I, but they are younger, and they get around! I have to hand it to them. So, get ready, and here they are, my competitors (and colleagues)*:
Ablenet - Always a solid company, and they have re-invented themselves also, since the iPad. They make a lot of the same types of things I do (but mine are less money). But they still make great stuff and are current and relevant.

Attainment Company - Known best for paper-oriented picture support materials, they are probably best known for the GoTalk device, rugged and solid, and reasonably priced. Once again, a company that has re-invented themselves, they produce iPad cases that are nice competitors to my Ultimate II's. They're worth a look-see. They also make some nice social skills apps. Not to forget, my favorite, for now, AAC app, GoTalk Now. One of the only ones that does video and music.

I'm not a big favorite of these 'all in one' stores as my stuff is so specific to people and populations, but they do serve a purpose. Camera Mouse
About / Camera Mouse: Camera Mouse is a free program that allows you to control the mouse pointer on a Windows computer just by moving your head. Clicking can be done by making the mouse pointer dwell over a spot on the screen (after first turning Clicking on in Settings).
The program was developed at Boston College to help people with
disabilities use the computer. The main audience for this program is
people who do not have reliable control of a hand but who can move their
head. People with Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, ALS,
Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury, various neurological
disorders use this program and its predecessors to run all types of
computer software.
Camera Mouse works as a mouse replacement system for Windows
computers so it should work with just about any application program. For
example people use Camera Mouse with entertainment programs, education
programs, communication programs, web browsers, and so on. (See the Downloads page for some of the programs and websites that we have used with Camera Mouse.)
Camera Mouse works best with application programs that require only a
mouse and a left click and that do not have tiny targets. It's easier to
use Camera Mouse with application programs that do not require extreme
accuracy.
What equipment is required? A Windows 8, 7,
Vista, or XP computer and a standard USB webcam (or a video camera built
into a notebook computer or tablet). We do our development work with a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 or a Microsoft LifeCam Studio HD. Camera Mouse works with other commercial USB webcams as well.

Boy Scouts of America v. Dale - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Boy Scouts of America et al. v. Dale, 530 U.S. 640 (2000), was a landmark case of the Supreme Court of the United States decided on June 28, 2000, that held that the constitutional right to freedom of association allows a private organization like the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to exclude a person from membership when "the presence of that person affects in a significant way the group's ability to advocate public or private viewpoints."[1] In a five to four decision, the Supreme Court ruled that opposition to homosexuality is part of BSA's "expressive message" and that allowing homosexuals as adult leaders would interfere with that message.[2] It reversed a decision of the New Jersey Supreme Court that had determined that New Jersey's public accommodations law required the BSA to readmit assistant Scoutmaster James Dale, who had made his homosexuality public and whom the BSA had expelled from the organization.
